What do you miss doing the most?
I don't know about you but when I am unable to go out and explore the world, I can tend to feel like a caged bird.
I have the ability to fly, I have the desire to fly, but my environment won't allow me to fly.
Covid Sucks!That's how our family felt at the beginning until we realized something about ourselves...
We forgot who we were!
We were all so caught up thinking about the past, worrying about the future, wanting what we don't have or being taken over by the demands of the day that we forgot that we have the POWER to stop everything and ask ourselves "How am I doing?...Really?"
Being Still is one of the hardest things to do and MOST of us are not very good at it because we fill our lives with the aforementioned things:
- Thinking about the past
- Worrying about the future
- Wanting what we don't have
- The demands of the day
Is this ringing truth for you in your circumstance?
Think about what it would feel like if you were to take just 2 minutes, EVERY time you started feeling anxious or depressed about your past, future or demands in the present, to just find a quite space and Breathe Deeply and tell yourself
"Everything is going to be ok"
"I don't need to be afraid"
"I can do this"
Let me tell you what would happen...
You STOP feeling out of control and START feeling in control.It doesn't get rid of the things in your life that you need to take care of or problems that you still need to work through...
...but it changes how you think about yourself and how you're going to handle it.
You become BIGGER than your problems and STRONGER than the fear or depression trying to keep you in a position of weakness because you STOP believing you are too weak to face what's in front of you and instead say...
"I CAN DO THIS!"
Now, imagine that, instead of waiting for the moments of freak-out or sadness, you START your day with being still...
Putting on the ARMOUR BEFORE the battle of the day doesn't just protect you in the battle...it makes you READY to battle!
HOW DO YOU DO THIS?
Well, our family prays together every night and read the Bible together every morning where we go through Ephesians 6 and put on the Armor of God.
If you do not have a routine, I would encourage you to try what we do and put on the Armor BEFORE you start your day!
Now that your mind and emotions are healthy, it's important you get your body healthy as well.
Stressor hormones can deplete so much of the essential vitamins the body needs to maintain a healthy state.
Eating right and healthy exercise are part of it, but sometimes you just aren't getting everything your body needs and....guess what
